Jean moved to Lyon France at the age of 17 and started to work as an English teacher. Vero moved to Lyon to study foreign languages They met in 1989 at Jeans place of work where Vero had just been employed The big love story begins A few years later in 1999 they decided to invest in a bar and restaurant in Vienne a small Roman town, about 30km south of Lyon Kathleen their now 13yr old daughter follows of course.

The "West Saloon" the first gay establishment in this small town. Full of fun….. Tex Mex and Hamburgers are the menu. Business is flourishing and they decide to open another business in 2004. An Irish pub and eatery. In 2005 Kathleen leaves the family nest to start her College studies in Dublin Ireland. Jean and Vero find themselves alone, well not exactly they still have their two cats..Coutchy and Murphy… With their baby gone they decide to go on another adventure.

Preferably to the sun...So, they sold both businesses and their house, each with a cat under her arm....Crossed the atlantic ocean to the 'American dream'. They arrived on American soil on the 1st of October 2007 Coutcy and Murphy (completely freaked out) stay in a cat hotel for ten days Jean and Vero stay in a hotel too. A wonderful friendly place called "Cocobelle Resort" in the heart of Fort Lauderdale beach And the search begins.

They meet their "Zorro" realtor J.P. O Sullivan who finds them a pet friendly home in record time and then the restaurant where they can make that 'American Dream' come true!!! All the refurbishments painting and decorating in the restaurant have been completed by Jean and Vero... Sugar n Spice is where you all wanna be...for Great Food, great wine and plenty of cheer.
